Douglas New is the Chief Technology Officer for Yesway. Doug’s primary responsibility is to make key architectural and infrastructure decisions pertaining to the technology and business plans for Yesway, while developing long view technology and product ideas to grow and guide the Yesway IT department.
Prior to joining Yesway, Doug was a Chief Information Officer with Tedeschi Food Shops, a privately-held retail convenience business with 181 locations that was purchased by 7-Eleven. In his tenure there, he was charged with developing and implementing technology strategy and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. Additionally, he was responsible for all IT-related activities and support services, including software development and business application integration, analytics and reporting, information security assessment and compliance, database development, point-of-sale and associated payment processing systems, networks and servers, help desk, disaster recovery and project management. Prior to this, he was a Senior Vice President and Director of IT Operations for Putnam Investments in Boston. Doug currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Advisors for Conexxus, the technology arm of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS).
Doug has a Bachelor’s Degree from DePauw University and a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems from George Washington University.
