Mr. Root’s primary responsibility is to raise capital for Brookwood’s various fund, separate account, and co-investment offerings from high net worth individuals, family offices, wealth managers, and select institutional investors.
Prior to rejoining Brookwood, Mr. Root was the Chief Operating Officer of the Newton Institute and Center for Serving Leadership where he was responsible for business development. Prior to this, he was the Chief Operating Officer at the Anglican Church in North America where he played a key role in the founding of the international headquarters for the unification of 1,000 Anglicans congregations across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Mr. Root was responsible for all fundraising and capital formation and also served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
Mr. Root is a graduate of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA.
