Brad B. Root is a Managing Director of Brookwood Securities. Mr. Root is responsible for investor relations maintaining and growing existing client relationships, developing new sources of capital for Brookwood’s various investment offerings, and communicating with investors regarding asset operations and performance. He works with a broad range of institutional investors, wealth managers, family offices and high net worth individuals.
Mr. Root began his career in private equity in 1991 when he joined Winthrop Securities and was one of Brookwood’s original employees when the firm was formed in 1993.
Prior to rejoining Brookwood in 2017, Mr. Root was the Chief Operating Officer of the Newton Institute and Center for Serving Leadership where he was responsible for business development. Prior to this, he was the first Chief Operating Officer of the Anglican Church in North America where he played a key role in the founding of the international headquarters for the unification of more than 1,000 Anglican congregations across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Mr. Root was responsible for all fundraising and capital formation and also served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
Mr. Root is a graduate of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA.
